Welcome To Oakham Cricket Club

The first reference to Oakham Cricket Club was in 1808, however the Club has been playing on the Lime Kilns Brooke Road (existing ground) since 1870.
Oakham Cricket Club is affiliated to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) through its affiliation to the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Board (LRCB)
Since 2005 the ECB, through the LRCB, has recognised Oakham Cricket Club as a Focus Club. A Focus Club is one that has been identified for an ECB strategic reasons, and one that is committed to long-term junior development. While the club has also obtained Clubmark status. Clubmark will set the entry level for an increasing network of cricket clubs providing good quality cricket programmes for young people throughout the country.
In 2008, Oakham Cricket Club will be the only Chance to Shine cricket club in Rutland. This ECB initiative will see Oakham Cricket Club invest 280 hours of cricket training amongst a cluster of local state schools within the local community.
The club will also be seeking to launch a Ladies Team for the 1st time in its history, with a number of invitational games. While a new U17s team will also be added to the number of Youth Teams.
In 2003 & 2004, the Oakham Cricket Club 1st XI won the South Lincs & Board League Champship. In 2007 both the Saturday 1st XI & 2nd XI teams came runners up, while the Sunday 1st XI won Division 4 of the Rutland League in 2007, securing promotion to Division 3 in 2008 and the Sunday 2nd XI team came 3rd in Division 7.
Oakham Cricket Club presently have 2 Senior Saturday XI Teams (South Lincs & Boarder League), 2 Sunday XI Teams (Rutland League) and 6 new Youth Teams (Border Counties Youth Cricket Association League).
